Neapolis was one of the most ancient and important cities of Sardinia, located approximately seven kilometers West of Terralba. The name Neapolis, has Greek origin but we know that never Greek people colonized Sardinia, although the archaeological researches have put in evidence the existence of businesses relations with Greek people, in particular with Athens.
The name of the ancient city is the Latin meaning of New city.
