The Village of Neapolis, is located in the Northwestern portion of Providence Township, Lucas County, Ohio and an the Wabash Railroad, was founded in 1872, by J. O. Arnold, William A. Barnett and Jackson Jordan, of Dayton, Ohio, who had purchased considerable land in that section. It has two stores, a Post Office established in 1872, a fire department station and a population of about 100. Through the Northerly portion of the Township runs the Wabash, St. Louis and Pacific Railway; while the Southerly portion is traversed by the Toledo, St. Louis and Kansas City Railroad.
